Volunteering: What to Know | Day 728 ft. Chaz & @UNITED24media

Video Summary

I’m a journalist, and I’m here to talk about volunteering for Ukraine, not just the war, but the culture, history, and present day. I’m joined by Eugene Slavy, the co-founder of United 24 media, and Chaz, a volunteer in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Eugene, can you tell us a bit about United 24 media? When the war started, I realized that Ukraine lacked effective and high-quality media in English about Ukraine, and that’s why we started United 24 media. We want to show the world what Ukraine is really like, not just the war, but the culture, history, and modern life.

Chaz, can you tell us a bit about yourself? I’m an American who has been supporting Ukraine since 2017, and I went to Ukraine to help with the war effort. I’m a former US military, and I’ve been working with multiple military blocks, communicating with influencers and helping to present the Ukrainian culture, history, and present-day figures and heroes.

Our conversation tonight is about volunteering for Ukraine, and Eugene, can you tell us about the different ways people can volunteer? We’re a group of professionals who started working on the front line from the first day of the war. We’re always looking for people to join us, so if you’re interested, you can search for Ukrainian communities in your town, find volunteering organizations that help Ukrainians, and join them to make a difference. Chaz, can you tell us about your experience with the Red Cross? I’ve had mixed feelings about the Red Cross, as they seem to be doing more harm than good. For example, they’re used as an instrument of the Russian prison system, colluding with the Russian government to break people’s spirits.
