Russia Considering Giving Iran Nuclear Weapons
Video Summary
Russia’s latest wave of missile attacks on Ukraine has killed at least 11 people and wounded 11 others. Despite this, Ukraine’s air defense systems have intercepted 47 out of 55 missiles, with the remaining 8 hitting their targets. Russia has also launched 24 Iranian-made drones, but Ukraine has shot down all of them. The aim of the attacks remains to cripple Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, but Ukraine’s air defense systems, supported by Western weapons, are doing a great job of defending the country.
Meanwhile, Western countries are increasing their military aid to Ukraine, with the US, UK, Germany, Poland, and Portugal all sending tanks to Ukraine. Canada has also announced it will send four combat-ready Leopard 2 tanks. Slovakia is considering transferring its 11 MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, and Poland has already sent some of its MiG-29s to Ukraine under the guise of spare parts.
Russia’s response to these developments has been to threaten military retaliation against nations supplying Ukraine with weapons, and to suggest giving nuclear weapons to Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba. Russia’s propaganda machine is also using the war to taunt Germany and the US, and to promote its own military efforts. On the ground, Ukraine is fighting to hold back Russian forces in the city of Bakmut, and has admitted to pulling out of the mining town of Soledar. Despite this, Ukraine remains determined to defend its country and push back against Russian aggression.
