Why NATO can’t treat Russia as an equal
Video Summary
The current crisis between Russia and NATO is one of the deepest since the end of the Cold War. Russia has over 100,000 soldiers on its border with Ukraine, and President Putin and Biden are negotiating a possible new security order for Europe. The possibility of war is imminent, or it may not happen at all. I don’t know, and no one knows. This uncertainty creates a dilemma, as it is the most pressing security issue now, and I would like to comment on it. However, as events develop so quickly, everything I say will become irrelevant very quickly. Therefore, I thought I would try to find something to say that would be relevant, regardless of what happens in the next week or month. Russia’s grievance is that it does not feel treated equally by NATO. They are tired of being dictated to, how security structures work, and they want their voice to have equal weight. However, this will not happen, and there is a specific reason why.
