Ukraine Daily Update | Day 629
Video Summary
As I record this, it’s day 629 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a brutal conflict that shows no signs of slowing down. Despite their incendiary attacks, Ukrainian forces have made significant gains, with over 900 Russian fighters killed, including 20 Russian artillery systems and one MLRS. Russia’s infamous terrorist, Altov, was also killed in action. Another notorious Russian terrorist, Andre Serov, met a less fortunate end, dying in a shallow grave in the Donbas region after attempting to escape from prison. It’s a grim reminder of what happens to Russian nationalists who wage war on Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Russian propagandists continue to spout misinformation, threatening NATO members and asserting that the “Magnificent Russian World” of Vladimir Putin has improved life in Ukraine. However, in reality, many Russians are struggling, like a widow who recently “donated” her husband to the meat grinder in Ukraine, receiving a refrigerator in exchange. It’s a sobering reminder of the devastating human cost of this war. The Russian people’s two greatest desires, it seems, are to witness the downfall of the US and secure a green card. One Russian interviewee, currently living in the US, bemoaned the loss of the country’s former carefree days, lamenting the loss of freedom to drive while drunk. It’s a bleak outlook, but I remain hopeful that one day, peace will return to Ukraine and the world will be a safer, more just place.
