Trump & Vance Agree: Let Putin Win in Ukraine!

Video Summary

As I sat down to write this, I couldn’t help but think that American politicians are a terrible blend of ignorance and narcissism, and sometimes it’s hard for even me to believe the level of cluelessness and ignorance they exhibit. Today, it’s Donald Trump and his vice president, JD Vance, who have given us their hot takes on Ukraine, and it’s just so unbelievably stupid.

Trump, at a rally in Georgia, said that if Biden was president, he would tell Ukraine to fight wars just like Russia does, and he meant that Russia would win. That’s not only incorrect, but it’s also concerning that a presidential candidate, someone who has already run the country, is so unaware that the Soviet Union fought Hitler and Napoleon. It’s either cognitive impairment or he literally didn’t know. It’s troubling, and it should be.

On the other hand, JD Vance has put forward his peace plan, which involves a negotiated settlement that would freeze the current battle lines between Russia and Ukraine, and heavily fortify them to prevent further Russian aggression. This would require Russia to sign away part of its sovereign territory, which Ukraine would give up. One problem with this plan is that it would mean Ukraine wouldn’t join NATO, and Putin would interpret this as a green light to intervene in Ukraine.

It’s also important to note that even if Ukraine were to join NATO, the US would not support its members militarily, which would give Putin an even stronger excuse to intervene. In fact, neutrality in Ukraine would mean the country would lose leverage and be at the mercy of Russia. Again, Putin would interpret this as a green light to intervene.

Vance’s plan is not just flawed; it’s also unrealistic, and it ignores the reality of Putin’s actions. He’s already invaded Ukraine in 2014 and 2022, and there’s no reason to believe he won’t do the same again, especially if Ukraine joins NATO. It’s also worth noting thatussia has a history of using neutral countries to its advantage. Putin’s proposal, eerily similar to Vance’s, is a way for him to ensure Ukraine’s isolation and vulnerability.

In the end, it’s clear that the only person who believes Vance’s plan is Putin himself.
