Video Summary

I still remember the day Russian troops entered my village like it was yesterday. It was a day that will haunt me for the rest of my life. I was just a normal villager, trying to live my life in peace, and then suddenly everything changed. The Russians arrived, and with them, a wave of terror and brutality.

They stormed our homes, torturing and raping everyone in sight. I was no exception. I still remember the pain and fear as they jumped on my joints, twisting and bending me in ways I never thought possible. I was choked, beaten, and threatened with death. They told me that I needed to change my ways, that my support for the Ukrainian government was mistaken, that I needed to join the separatist side.

It all happened so quickly, it’s hard to put into words. One minute I was living my life, and the next, I was in the midst of a nightmare. But even in the midst of that terror, there was a moment that still haunts me. The Russian operator, the one doing the torturing, looked at me with a calculating gaze and said, “So, you’re pro-Ukrainian in Donbass. Well, that’s Hell on Earth.”

At that moment, I realized that everything I held dear was being stripped away from me. My family, my friends, my community – all were either being terrorized or forced to flee. And for what? So that Russia could impose its will on our region? It was a senseless, brutal, and inhumane act. And yet, even in the depths of despair, I knew I had to keep fighting, to hold onto hope that one day, justice would be served, and the people of Donbass would be free from the yoke of tyranny.
