Estonian Soldier reacts to Black Hawk Down
Video Summary
A group of American troops, including Rangers, SEALs, and Delta Force, have been sent to Mogadishu, Somalia to capture and kill the leader of the Somali National Alliance, General Mohammed Farrah Aidid, in 1993. The operation, dubbed “Black Hawk Down”, was intended to be a quick in-and-out mission, but it turned into a 17-hour battle that left many soldiers and civilians dead or injured. One of the most intense moments of the battle was when two Black Hawk helicopters were shot down, and a small team of Delta operators, including Randall and Gary Gordon, had to fight their way out of the scene. The two operators, who were later awarded posthumous Medals of Honor, were killed in action, and their bravery is still remembered today.
